Chapter News and Notes

AGA members Brian Gee, Sigrid Coons, Marcella Junco, Ann Marsh, Jim Nellegar, Mary Peck, and Sharon Siekowski did a phenomenal job putting together a meal for approximately 20 guests at the Ronald McDonald House on Friday, May 16th.  Big contributors to the whole effort came from the Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities (OMRDD).  Mary Peck also enlisted the help of her two nieces, Sierra  and Ashley Hwaszcz.  Two turkeys were prepared with all the fixings including desserts.  Thank you to everyone who helped out and brought some comfort to others during a difficult time.

The 2008 award will be presented to Mayor Stratton at the NYS Leadership and Accountability Conference on May 8, 2008 in Albany. The Big Brothers Big Sister’s Bowl for Kids Sake was a lot of fun and a great success thanks to chapter members Jim Cox, Brian Gee, Kirk Schanzenbach, and Amanda Zibella who bowled on Saturday, April 5th.  The Chapter raised $575 with substantial contributions made by the State Education Department’s Rate Setting Unit and the Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities’ Internal Audit Unit.  Thank you to everyone who contributed and participated!
