DESCRIPTION

The New York Capital Chapter AGA, the Office of the State Comptroller, and the AGA National Office, in conjunction with the National Association of State Auditors, Comptrollers and Treasurers (NASACT) and the Association of Local Government Auditors (ALGA), is pleased to announce a new and increasingly important topic to our audio conference schedule – emerging issues at FASAB and GASB: the landscape is changing.

This audio conference offers a unique opportunity to hear from two key officials of the Federal, State and local accounting standards board on evolving concepts that drive accounting standards. The speakers will discuss:

  • the conceptual frameworks being developed at the two boards;
  • what future standards may arise as a result of new concepts;
  • how the new standards may affect preparers, auditors and users;
  • the impact of international accounting standards on the two boards; and
  • the progress being made in financial and performance reporting during the last ten years and the goals for the next ten.

To share their expertise with these issues are Wendy M. Payne, CPA, CGFM, Executive Director of FASAB, and David R. Bean, CPA, Director of Research and Technical Activities at GASB.

The session will also include approximately 20 minutes for Q & A.

Remember to register early.  Training room capacity is limited.
